Aims & Scope
Senologie – Journal for Breast Diagnostics and Therapy aims to make relevant research and clinical data widely accessible, to foster scientific dialogue, and to translate new insights into daily patient care. To reflect the multifaceted nature of breast cancer, the journal is deliberately interdisciplinary in scope.
As the official journal of the German Society of Senology (DGS) and the Austrian Society of Senology (ÖGS), and as the only German‑language specialist journal dedicated to breast diagnostics and therapy, Senologie covers the full spectrum of modern breast medicine. It addresses senologists, gynecologists, radiologists, oncologists, and all other professionals involved in breast diagnostics and therapy. Members of DGS and ÖGS receive the journal as part of their membership.
Senologie publishes high‑quality, peer‑reviewed original and review articles, case reports, and contributions on current developments from all relevant disciplines — including radiology, sonography, surgery, pathology, oncology, and health services research.
Key thematic areas of the journal include:
- Translational research
- Mammography screening
- Diagnostics and interventional procedures
- Local treatment approaches
- Systemic therapy
- Palliative care
- Health services research
- Quality assurance, benchmarking, and health economics
- Guideline and certification processes
Senologie provides an interdisciplinary forum for professional exchange, up‑to‑date scientific insights, and practice‑oriented knowledge on the diagnosis, treatment, and care of breast diseases.
