Generative AI
Thieme endorses the COPE Position Statement on Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Authorship. AI tools can contribute to articles. The use of generative AI tools must be described in the declarations. AI tools must not be listed as authors, as they do not meet all the criteria for authorship: They cannot assume responsibility for the integrity and content of a work, nor can they assume legal responsibility.
Authors are responsible for all parts of their manuscript, including those created with the help of AI.
Further information on the use and declaration of AI can be found in the Thieme Authors’ Lounge.
