Journal Concept
Each issue of “Nephrologie aktuell” focuses on different scientific topics. The editorial team is responsible for planning these topics (with input from the scientific advisory board of “Nephrologie aktuell”). Typically, a guest editor oversees these focus areas for each issue: In consultation with the editorial team, they select authors for approximately four article topics—one of which is a CME article—and conduct a content review of the articles through the peer-review process. The scientific advisory board is also consulted during the review process. The guest editor writes a short editorial on the special focus articles and oversees the “Journal Club” section, in which a study that is as current as possible and relevant to the special focus topic is briefly presented. Instructions for authors regarding the special focus articles and the Journal Club can be found below. The publisher handles the editorial preparation and layout design for each issue.
