Journal Concept

Each issue of “Kinder- und Jugendmedizin” focuses on different scientific themes. The editors plan these topics in consultation with the publisher. Typically, a guest editor oversees these focus areas for each issue: They select authors for approximately 5–6 article topics - one of which is a CME article - often in consultation with the editorial team and the editors, and conduct a content review of the articles through the peer-review process. The editors and the scientific advisory board are also consulted during the review process. The guest editor writes a short editorial on the special issue articles. The author guidelines for the special issue articles (with and without CME) can be found below.
Original articles and reviews written independently of the special issue theme may also be submitted. Following a review by the publisher and the editors, the article may be accepted, revised, or rejected. Upon acceptance, the article will be published in an unspecified issue of the journal. A key factor in this decision is, among other things, whether there is sufficient space available for the publication in a given issue.
The publisher is responsible for the editorial preparation and layout of the articles.
