Submission of the Manuscript
Please submit manuscripts with all attachments via email to an editor (see addresses below) or to ahz@thieme.de. Spelling must conform to DUDEN (New German Spelling, Dictionary of Medical Terms) and Terminologia Anatomica (Federative Committee on Anatomical Terminology). Please submit the manuscript as a file created in a standard word processing program. PDF files cannot be processed further and will therefore not be accepted.
The editors reserve the right to make necessary changes and abridgements after consultation with the author.
Company employees are requested to include the company name and address in the correspondence address.
The AHZ sees itself as a platform for various schools of thought within homeopathy. Respectful interaction among representatives of different schools is a given.
The editors reserve the right to consult the Scientific Advisory Board or obtain an independent expert opinion in special cases.
Length
Original works should not exceed 6 printed pages. One printed page corresponds to approximately 4,200 characters. Book reviews and letters to the editor should not exceed 2,000 characters.
If the length is exceeded, please contact the editors if necessary.
Structure/Layout
- Title of the article (as short and informative as possible).
- An abstract and a summary in English (maximum 500 characters each) should be brief and convey the content of the work and the most important facts without any redundancy.
- Keywords (up to 5) that provide insight into the main points of the text.
- Subheadings structure the text and provide clarity. Please include them and clearly label them.
- Tables can be created using the table function in standard word processing programs and included in the article. Tables always include a header row that explains the contents of the individual columns. Bulleted lists are not tables. Please integrate them into the body text or highlight them as a box.
- Inserted boxes with explanations or examples can break up the text. Please identify these text passages.
- Illustrations are encouraged because they can break up the text and improve its comprehensibility. Please do not insert figures into the text file; instead, send us the original files (image formats: jpg, tiff, png, etc., with a resolution of at least 300 dpi) clearly labeled.
- The placement of tables, graphs, and figures must be specified in the body text.
- Notes are numbered consecutively and indicated in the body text by superscript numbers.
- References in the body text must be provided in square brackets [1]. See below for format.
- Name and full address of the author(s), including phone number and email address.
- Author biography with photo: key career milestones, max. 400 characters, in bullet points. The photo should be provided electronically if possible (resolution at least 300 dpi).
Formal Guidelines
- Proper nouns are set in regular typeface.
- Emphasis in the text file should be written in bold.

- Homeopathic drug names are written in italics unless abbreviated.
- Homeopathic remedy names are abbreviated according to the guidelines of the Synthetic Repertory by Barthel/Klunker.
- Abbreviations must be explained upon first occurrence if they are not commonly known (e.g., ECG, DNA).
- The following abbreviations for standard homeopathic works may be used:
- ORG (Hahnemann, Organon)
- CK (Hahnemann, Chronic Diseases)
- RA (Hahnemann, Pure Materia Medica)
- EN (Allen, Encyclopedia)
- GS (Hering, Guiding Symptoms)
- K (Kent, Repertory, English)
